It is the smallest solid-fuel rocket used by NASA to put scientific satellites into Earth orbit.
It is composed of four sections with a total length of 23 m. In its standard version it weighs 21,450 kg and can put into orbit up to a maximum of 175 kg of payload.
With the Scout numerous satellites of the Explorer series and the Italian San Marco satellites have been launched.
